As a vegetarian I have a lot of trouble getting all the necessary vitamins that I need in life.
I thought I was doing a pretty good job and getting my protein and iron in vegetables.
My boyfriend is a meat eater and lover. He also feels I can’t be healthy unless I eat meat. I just wanted to prove to him that I was as healthy or even more so than him. I go to a group fitness class at the personal training center three times a week. I knew that the gym offers nutritional counseling. So while I was there I set up a date to do nutritional counseling. I figured I could prove my boyfriend wrong and go about my day. I talked to the nutritionist about my diet and she was appalled. Apparently eat leafy green veggies does give you protein, but not nearly enough. I also was lacking in B12 and calcium. Doing nutritional counseling was super helpful and I am still doing it. The nutritionist and I came up with a diet plan that keeps me healthy and still a vegetarian. Everytime I go to the gym to do my fitness class, I pop over and do nutritional counseling to give her an update. I do feel way better now that I am eating a little different and taking vitamins. I notice that I am sleeping better, more motivated and I just feel way more alive. I am having more success in my fitness class due to my energy level too. I think I am starting to lose more weight. How awesome is that?
